COVID spreads mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks, or raises their voice e.

These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Wearing a cloth face covering will help protect people around you, including those at higher risk of severe illness from COVID and workers who frequently come into close contact with other people e. Cloth face coverings are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID when they are widely used by people in public settings. The spread of COVID can be reduced when cloth face coverings are used along with other preventive measuresincluding social distancingfrequent handwashing, and cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.

The cloth face coverings recommended here are not surgical masks or respirators. Currently, those are critical supplies that should be reserved for healthcare workers and other first responders. Cloth face coverings are not personal protective equipment PPE. They are not appropriate substitutes for PPE such as respirators like N95 respirators or medical facemasks like surgical masks in workplaces where respirators or facemasks are recommended or required to protect the wearer.

Cancel Continue.M-weighting is a closely related filter, an offset version of the same curve, without the quasi-peak detector. See Present usage of weighting. While most audio engineers are familiar with the A-weighting curve, which was based on the 40 phon equal-loudness contour derived initially by Fletcher and Munsonthe later CCIR weighting curve now supported as an ITU standard is less well known outside of the UK and Europe.

Originally incorporated into an ANSI standard for sound level metersA-weighting was intended for measurement of the audibility of sounds by themselves. It was never specifically intended for the measurement of the more random near- white or pink noise in electronic equipment, though has been used for this purpose by most microphone manufacturers since the s. The human ear responds quite differently to clicks and bursts of random noise, and it is this difference that gave rise to the weighting, which together with quasi-peak measurement rather than the rms measurement used with A-weighting became widely used by broadcasters throughout Britain, Europe, and former British Commonwealth countries, where engineers were heavily influenced by BBC test methods.

Telephone companies worldwide have also used methods similar to weighting with quasi-peak measurement to describe objectionable interference induced in one telephone circuit by switching transients in another. Developments in the s, in particular the spread of FM broadcasting and the development of the compact audio cassette with Dolby-B Noise Reductionalerted engineers to the need for a weighting curve that gave subjectively meaningful results on the typical random noise that limited the performance of broadcast circuits, equipment and radio circuits.

A-weighting was not giving consistent results, especially on FM radio transmissions and Compact Cassette recording where preemphasis of high frequencies was resulting in increased noise readings that did not correlate with subjective effect. Early efforts to produce a better weighting curve led to a DIN standard that was adopted for European Hi-Fi equipment measurement for a while. This led to the CCIR standard which defined a new weighting curve and quasi-peak rectifier.

The origin of the current ITU-R weighting curve can be traced to F and O. The report's graph of the DPB curve is identical to that of the ITU-R curve, except that the latter extends to slightly lower and higher frequencies. The BBC report states that this curve was given in a "contribution by the D. The BBC report states "this characteristic is based on subjective tests described by Belger. Dolby Laboratories took up the new CCIR weighting for use in measuring noise on their noise reduction systems, both in cinema Dolby A and on cassette decks Dolby Bwhere other methods of measurement were failing to show up the advantage of such noise reduction.

Later versions up to CCIR differed only in minor changes to permitted tolerances. This standard was then incorporated into many other national and international standards IEC, BSI, JIS, ITU and adopted widely as the standard method for measuring noise, in broadcasting, professional audio, and ' Hi-Fi ' specifications throughout the s. Current work on this standard occurs primarily in the maintenance of IECthe international standard for sound systems.

While it has been said incorrectly that the difference is due to a requirement for assessing noise intrusiveness in the presence of programme material, rather than just loudness, the BBC report makes clear the fact that this was not the basis of the experiments.

The real reason for the difference probably relates to the way in which our ears analyse sounds in terms of spectral content along the cochlea. This behaves like a set of closely spaced filters with a roughly constant Q factorthat is, bandwidths proportional to their centre frequencies.

High frequency hair cells would therefore be sensitive to a greater proportion of the total energy in noise than low frequency hair cells. Dependent on spectral content, weighted measurements of noise are generally about 11 dB higher than A-weighted, and this is probably a factor in the recent trend away from weighting in equipment specifications as cassette tape use declines. Rather than having a simple 'integration time' this detector requires implementation with two cascaded 'peak followers' each with different attack time-constants carefully chosen to control the response to both single and repeating tone-bursts of various durations.

This ensures that measurements on impulsive noise take proper account of our reduced hearing sensitivity to short bursts.

This quasi-peak measurement is also called psophometric weighting. This was once more important because outside broadcasts were carried over 'music circuits' that used telephone lines, with clicks from Strowger and other electromechanical telephone exchanges. It now finds fresh relevance in the measurement of noise on computer 'Audio Cards' which commonly suffer clicks as drives start and stop.

This results in a single measurement sometimes called distortion residue measurement which has been claimed to correspond well with subjective effect even for power amplifiers where crossover distortion is known to be far more audible than normal THD Total harmonic distortion measurements would suggest. Often both A-weighted and weighted figures are quoted for noise, especially in microphone specifications. While not intended for this application, the curve has also been used offset to place the 0 dB point at 2 kHz rather than 1 kHz as "M weighting" in standards such as ISO [5] intended to gauge loudness or annoyance of cinema soundtracks.

This application of the weighting curve does not include the quasi-peak detector specified in the ITU standard. The M-weighting is avaliable in Avee Player version 1. The weighting curve is specified by both a circuit diagram of a weighting network and a table of amplitude responses. The source and sink impedances are both ohms resistiveas shown in the diagram.

The values are taken directly from the ITU-R specification. Note that since this circuit is purely passive, it cannot create the additional 12dB gain required; any results must be corrected by a factor of 8.All the guides were extremely friendly and helpful making all the the tours interesting. Dataset sampling doesn't apply to evaluations for time series. BigML has learned some general rules about what makes one network structure better than another for a given dataset. Given your dataset, BigML will automatically suggest a structure and a set of parameter values that are likely to perform well for your dataset.

This option only builds one network. Example: true tags optional Array of Strings A list of strings that help classify and retrieve the deepnet. The theory is that these engineered features will linearize obvious non-linear dependencies before training begins, and so make learning proceed more quickly.

Example: "000005" Depending on the descent algorithm chosen and the topology of the network, certain other parameters may apply. You can also use curl to customize a new deepnet from the command line. For example, to create a new deepnet named "my deepnet" using descent algorithm "adam". Once a deepnet has been successfully created it will have the following properties.

Creating a deepnet is a process that can take just a few seconds or a few days depending on the size of the dataset used as input and on the workload of BigML's systems. The deepnet goes through a number of states until its fully completed. Through the status field in the deepnet you can determine when deepnet has been fully processed and ready to be used to create predictions. Once you delete a deepnet, it is permanently deleted.

If you try to delete a deepnet a second time, or a deepnet that does not exist, you will receive a "404 not found" response. However, if you try to delete a deepnet that is being used at the moment, then BigML.

To list all the deepnets, you can use the deepnet base URL. By default, only the 20 most recent deepnets will be returned. You can get your list of deepnets directly in your browser using your own username and API key with the following links.

You can also paginate, filter, and order your deepnets. When you create a new prediction using a model, BigML. If you create a new prediction using an ensemble using the bagging or random decision forests technique, the same process is repeated for each model in the ensemble. Then all the predictions from the individual models in the ensemble are combined to return a final prediction using one of the strategies described below. If the ensemble is using the gradient tree boosting technique, the prediction result will be additive meaning each tree modifies the predictions of the previously grown tree.

If you create a new prediction using a logistic regression, its coefficients will be used. You can also list all of your predictions.

You can use curl to customize new predictions. It is possible to create a prediction using the filtered decision tree model by specifying filter parameters in the query string of the request parameters. Two useful parameters are support and value, as described in the Filtering a Model section. Once a prediction has been successfully created it will have the following properties.

This is the date and time in which the prediction was created with microsecond precision. Each entry includes the column number in original source, the name of the field, the type of the field, and the specific datatype. Not available for ensembles with boosted trees. Even if this an array the current version of BigML.Twitter may be over capacity or experiencing a momentary hiccup. Join 1000s of MoneySavers in the Forum's many discussion boards. It's all about 'comping', a potentially profitable hobby. This guide covers sourcing the right free online competitions, using web gadgets to form-fill at speed, free help with tie-breakers and much more. Thanks to the Competition Time board's users, especially comping queen VelvetGlove (see her comping guide for more on lots of the tips below).

The aim of this guide is to complement the forum board. Hopefully it will mean more competitions posted, and more prizes for MoneySavers. Competitions are a cheap chance for companies to promote their wares. Add to that the chance to collect valuable info on potential customers, and it's easy to see why these contests abound. This way, you're statistically more likely to win big. Depending on your work ethic and luck, you could furnish your house, travel the world and boost your bank balance.

Often all entering involves is filling in an online form or sending a postcard, sometimes answering a question or tie-breaker. Plus your gains are tax-free, so unlike other ways to boost your income, the taxman won't get any of it. Unlike other money-makers, such as Survey Sites, eBay Selling, Facebook Selling, Earning Cash Online and other ways to Boost Your Income, the rewards aren't guaranteed.

Think of comping as a potentially rewarding hobby, rather than a potentially underpaid job. The spirit of comping is it's a bit of fun, rather than a dead cert money-spinner. Hours can be long, payouts poor and your bum certainly won't thank you for sitting at the computer all day.

That said, for those who catch the bug, these become minor details as they enjoy the spirit of community on the board, and hopefully wins flooding in. It's also fun to drool over all those lavish prizes.

While we don't want to give anyone the impression that comping is a surefire way to make cash, it is possible to win big. All she had to do was answer why they deserved to win the wedding. Laura's story is far from a one-off. Needless to say I'm absolutely stunned and beginning to wonder where on earth all these prizes are going to go.

A lovely problem to have though. It gives me a fantastic lifestyle and I've been able to do things that I would never have been able to otherwise. Lady Luck's gazed down on many other MoneySavers from the Competitions board. For more successes, see the What's your biggest win. I'm still in shock. So grateful for this life-changing prize. The trip to Vegas was amazing. We got to stay at the MGM, go quad biking across the desert, front-row tickets to the Cirque du Soleil and a helicopter trip over the strip.

We got picked up by limos everywhere. There's a real community there, with hundreds of enthusiasts who love to share the competitions they find. They know it diminishes their chances of winning that contest, but sharing their research increases opportunities for everyone. You can do just that and keep track using the Competitions Time forum board. Scroll down to the bottom of the forum board to the 'display options' box.

Now tell it to sort threads in order of 'thread start time' from the beginning, and 'descending'. This will sort the competitions into chronological order to reduce the chances of missing the deadline on each. Use the page numbers to go back to the page showing the oldest (still open) competitions. This is usually page 200ish.
